A Great Logo Speaks 1000 Words

Most business owners understand the importance of having a logo, but does everyone understand the importance of having a good logo?
I have many clients come to me with a quickly constructed logo that they don't really like. In fact, they are often embarrassed by their current logos. This may be because they had a friend do it for free or because their last graphic designer didn't capture who they are with the first design. I can't stress enough how important it is to have a logo that you love, that you're proud to display, and that presents who you and your business are in a clear and readable way. Your logo will appear everywhere that mention of your business appears and it's very important that it be an iconic image that people will remember.

Logo Design Process

A logo is often a pretty extensive project. Most of the time, we are starting from ground zero. Most clients who need a logo design have just started a new business and the logo design process is that of discovery for both of us.

I start with a Logo Questionnaire, to get as much information about the client's business as possible. Once the client has filled this out, I will send a series of sketches or rough drafts to nail down the composition and concept. A logo is a very personal piece of your business, so I always work very closely with each client, to ensure that we're heading in the right direction with each step that we take.

I look at this process as creating art together. The client has a wisdom that I need to incorporate to make the final product perfect for them. The client and I will usually go back and forth in the conceptual phase until we've settled on the concept that they'd like to develop. From there, I will take the sketch or rough digital draft and refine it until the client is happy with the final design.

This process can often be quite lengthy, depending on the amount of work that we do to create the logo. Logos often range from $300-$700, depending on a number of factors, which I would be happy to explain in our free initial consultation.
